Founded in 2015, Locke Capital (“Locke”) is a real asset investment firm specializing in commercial real estate and oil and gas. Over the years, Locke has expanded its focus to include healthcare technology and other alternative investments. With more than 200 transactions completed, Locke has earned a reputation for its disciplined approach to deal evaluation and execution.

In 2019, Locke launched transactional, asset-specific funds, inviting investors to partner on targeted opportunities. Since then, we’ve successfully initiated and managed 10 transactional fundraises, with 3 funds fully liquidated.

Ian Lang

Partner

Ian Lang has 15 years of experience in modeling, financial analysis and portfolio development. Most recently, he co-founded Locke Capital, a real property company focused on energy and commercial real estate. Ian has led the development, implementation and divestment of energy assets investments across multiple basins throughout the US. Throughout his career, he has managed more than 750 completed transactions focused on exploiting market inefficiencies, resulting in extreme value creation for investors. Prior to Locke, Ian was the Director of Acquisitions for a boutique energy company. In addition to his experience in energy, he has held consulting and financial analyst roles at Plant Moran and J.P. Morgan. Ian graduated from the University of Kansas with Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Accounting.

David Nickloy

Partner

David Nickloy has spent the past decade in deal procurement, primarily focusing on commercial real estate investments. As co-founder of Locke Capital, David’s ability to foster new relationships quickly and effectively has made him a natural fit to spearhead various equity sourcing efforts for Locke over the past 7 years. Prior to entering the private equity real estate sector, he spent 5 years in various corporate development roles including strategic planning and business development for 2 plastics manufacturing facilities in Nevada and California. David graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Kansas.

Patrick Brennan

Managing Director and Founding Partner of Locke Health Ventures

Patrick Brennan is the Managing Director and Founding Partner of Locke Health Ventures. He grew up in Cape Cod, MA and is now based in Kansas City with his wife Rachel and their son Theodore. He focuses on driving the strategy, growth and vision of Locke’s early-stage venture capital fund and commercial advisory business. Through Locke’s VC fund and advisory businesses both Patrick and the Locke Health team actively support the growth of health tech ventures across the country.

Prior to Locke, Patrick served as Director of Sales and Business Development at Oracle Health (Cerner), where he led growth and competitive strategy initiatives across the for-profit health system and payer lines of business. He is also a co-founder of Sought Group and FY Summit Capital, investment platforms focused on energy, real estate, and health technology. He serves on the board of a nonprofit supporting global microfinancing for climbing and adventure travel guides around the world. Patrick is a member of Arrived Outdoors, a Kansas City-based community of leaders and entrepreneurs united by a shared passion for adventure and curating world-class shared experiences.

An avid mountaineer, Patrick has been on climbing expeditions on six continents—including the Himalaya, Andes, and Antarctica—and is an Advanced Open Water scuba diver. He and his family are deeply involved in philanthropic efforts spanning higher education, library growth, international school development, and neurological disease research. Patrick holds a BBA in Quantitative Economics with minors in Political Science and English from the University of Iowa, where he played on the baseball team and was a multi-year Academic All–Big Ten honoree.

Mr. Schlatter has spent 13 years in the oil and gas industry, focusing on the strategic acquisition of royalty and non-operated working interest assets for the past 8 years. Prior to joining Locke Capital, Schlatter spearheaded acquisitions for Accelerate Resources, a private equity-backed oil and gas investment company. At Accelerate, he was responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and closing strategic acquisitions for the portfolio. To date, Schlatter has sourced, vetted, and closed more than $100M of non-operated working interest assets consisting of more than 250 independent acquisitions spanning five of the major basins across the United States. Schlatter is a graduate of Kansas State University and received a Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law), giving him a unique viewpoint and skillset enhancing his ability to proficiently negotiate and close acquisition opportunities. Combined with his strong industry relationships, Mr. Schlatter has become a key contributor to building oil and gas asset bases.

Nitin Srivastava

Executive Vice President of Engineering

Nitin Srivastava is responsible for reservoir engineering evaluation, reserves analysis, economic modeling and oversight of geosciences and operations. He has 20+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas, most recently with Titanium Exploration as EVP Technical and prior to that with Occidental Petroleum as Technical Team Lead. In Nitin’s roles, he has been instrumental in deploying over $500 million in acquisitions across key shale regions. Having evaluated more than 1,000 deals over a decade, Nitin brings a unique perspective that combines deep technical knowledge with financial acumen while accounting for the constantly changing nature of Oil and Gas A&D. Nitin received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, India, a graduate degree in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from University of California, Los Angeles.

Adolfo Figueroa

Executive Vice President of Healthcare Operations

Adolfo Figueroa is the Executive Vice President of Healthcare Operations at Locke Health. A US Navy Veteran, Adolfo brings over 30 years of experience in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. He holds a certification in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and has extensive experience in new center implementations, ensuring compliance with NFPA 99 and International Building Codes. Adolfo has also worked clinically with wound care and hyperbaric patients, implemented Limb Salvage Programs, and managed both clinical and administrative aspects of new and existing centers. His business acumen extends to financial operations, marketing, and community education for physicians. After 12 years as a center director in West Texas, Adolfo expanded his expertise to include practice management and played a key role in developing hospital-based wound care centers with various Wound Care Management companies. Adolfo now brings his extensive knowledge and leadership to Locke Health, continuing to drive growth and innovation in the field.

Kate Kieu

Executive Assistant

Kate Kieu is an experienced Executive Assistant with more than seven years of hands-on administrative, organizational, and operational support expertise. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from The University of Tulsa and has built a strong reputation for her professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to keep complex workflows running smoothly. Before joining Locke Capital, Kate played an integral role at a local Oklahoma engineering firm in standardizing office procedures, enhancing documentation accuracy, and supporting accounting and project coordination. Her contributions helped streamline operations and improve internal efficiency to produce polished deliverables and support both internal teams and external initiatives. With a dedication to service, organization, and continuous improvement, Kate contributes to the professional and operational excellence that partners expect from Locke Capital.

Lauren Lowe has 11 years of experience in public accounting and the private sector, spanning a range of industries including oil and gas, private equity, manufacturing, industrial gases and engineering, energy transportation, and non-profits.
 
Over the course of her career, Lowe has developed expertise in technical accounting and financial reporting, with extensive focus on private equity acquisitions. Lowe’s experience includes leading the accounting and reporting functions during complex deal structures, navigating purchase accounting, and preparing financial statements and investor reports tailored to private equity stakeholders. In addition, Lowe has significant experience preparing board and executive-level financial reporting packages and conducting technical research to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
 
Prior to Locke, Lowe held roles including Assistant Controller and Controller at a plastics manufacturing company. Lowe also spent seven years at a Big Four accounting firm in the audit practice. Most recently, she served as a Senior Manager in the Outsourced Managed Services Group. There, she gained additional experience in new software implementation and process improvement initiatives within the accounting function. Lowe holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Christian Mattox

Vice President of Investor Relations

Christian Mattox has spent over a decade in A&D strategy, investor relations, and operational management. Since joining Locke in 2017, she has played a pivotal role in the firm’s growth, investor engagement, and portfolio expansion. Christian began her career in acquisitions and divestitures at Chesapeake Energy and Meagher Energy Advisors before joining Locke Capital, initially focusing on strengthening the acquisition team; she has since become an integral part of the organization. Christian oversees staff and investor relations at Locke, while managing human resources and various operational aspects of the company. As a 4th generation oil and gas professional, Christian brings both industry heritage and formal education to her position, holding two degrees from the University of Oklahoma, including a Master of Legal Studies in Energy and Natural Resources Law. Her versatility and comprehensive knowledge continue to drive value across all areas of Locke Capital’s operations.

Mrs. Mattox has been in the oil and gas industry for more than a decade, spending her early years in the acquisitions and divestitures departments of both a major E&P company, Chesapeake Energy, as well as boutique divestiture firm, Meagher Energy Advisors. Mattox came to Locke Capital in 2017 to bolster its acquisition team. Over the course of more than 7 years with Locke, Mattox has been a leading component in the growth of Locke Capital. She has successfully transitioned into Operations Management, influencing and engaging in nearly every aspect of Locke’s growth path from operations management to investor relations. Mrs. Mattox is a 4th generation oil and gas professional and holds two degrees from the University of Oklahoma, including a Masters of Legal Studies in Oil & Gas Energy Law.

Casey Oland, CPL

Vice President of Land
