Founded in 2015, Locke Capital (“Locke”) is a real asset investment firm specializing in commercial real estate and oil and gas. Over the years, Locke has expanded its focus to include healthcare technology and other alternative investments. With more than 200 transactions completed, Locke has earned a reputation for its disciplined approach to deal evaluation and execution.
In 2019, Locke launched transactional, asset-specific funds, inviting investors to partner on targeted opportunities. Since then, we’ve successfully initiated and managed 10 transactional fundraises, with 3 funds fully liquidated.

Meet The Team
Ian Lang
Ian Lang has 15 years of experience in modeling, financial analysis and portfolio development. Most recently, he co-founded Locke Capital, a real property company focused on energy and commercial real estate. He has led the development, implementation and divestment of energy assets investments across multiple basins throughout the US. Throughout his career, he has managed more than 750 completed transactions focused on exploiting market inefficiencies, resulting in extreme value creation for investors. Prior to Locke, Lang was the Director of Acquisitions for a boutique energy company. In addition to Lang’s experience in energy he has held consulting and financial analyst roles at Plant Moran and J.P. Morgan. Lang graduated from the University of Kansas with Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Accounting.

David Nickloy
David Nickloy has spent the past decade in deal procurement, primarily focusing on commercial real estate investments. As co-founder of Locke Capital, Nickloy’s ability to foster new relationships quickly and effectively has made him a natural fit to spearhead various equity sourcing efforts for Locke over the past 7 years. Prior to entering the private equity real estate sector, Nickloy spent 5 years in various corporate development roles including strategic planning and business development for 2 plastics manufacturing facilities in Nevada and California. Nickloy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Kansas.

Daniel Schlatter, JD
Daniel Schlatter has spent 13 years in the oil and gas industry, focusing on the strategic acquisition of royalty and non-operated working interest assets for the past 8 years. Prior to joining Locke Capital, Schlatter spearheaded acquisitions for Accelerate Resources, a private equity-backed oil and gas investment company. At Accelerate, he was responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and closing strategic acquisitions for the portfolio. To date, Schlatter has sourced, vetted, and closed more than $100M of non-operated working interest assets consisting of more than 250 independent acquisitions spanning five of the major basins across the United States. Schlatter is a graduate of Kansas State University and received a Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law), giving him a unique viewpoint and skillset enhancing his ability to proficiently negotiate and close acquisition opportunities. Combined with his strong industry relationships, Schlatter has become a key contributor to building oil and gas asset bases.

Nitin Srivastava
Nitin Srivastava is responsible for reservoir engineering evaluation, reserves analysis, economic modeling and oversight of geosciences and operations. He has 20+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas, most recently with Titanium Exploration as EVP Technical and prior to that with Occidental Petroleum as Technical Team Lead. In his roles he has been instrumental in deploying over $500 million in acquisitions across key shale regions. Having evaluated more than 1,000 deals over a decade, Nitin brings a unique perspective that combines deep technical knowledge with financial acumen while accounting for the constantly changing nature of Oil and Gas A&D. Nitin received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, India, a graduate degree in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from University of California, Los Angeles.

Christian Mattox
Christian Mattox has spent over a decade in A&D strategy, investor relations, and operational management. Since joining Locke in 2017, she has played a pivotal role in the firm’s growth, investor engagement, and portfolio expansion. Mattox began her career in acquisitions and divestitures at Chesapeake Energy and Meagher Energy Advisors before joining Locke Capital, initially focusing on strengthening the acquisition team; she has since become an integral part of the organization. Mattox oversees staff and investor relations at Locke, while managing human resources and various operational aspects of the company. As a 4th generation oil and gas professional, Mattox brings both industry heritage and formal education to her position, holding two degrees from the University of Oklahoma, including a Master of Legal Studies in Energy and Natural Resources Law. Her versatility and comprehensive knowledge continue to drive value across all areas of Locke Capital’s operations.
Mrs. Mattox has been in the oil and gas industry for more than a decade, spending her early years in the acquisitions and divestitures departments of both a major E&P company, Chesapeake Energy, as well as boutique divestiture firm, Meagher Energy Advisors. Mattox came to Locke Capital in 2017 to bolster its acquisition team. Over the course of more than 7 years with Locke, Mattox has been a leading component in the growth of Locke Capital. She has successfully transitioned into Operations Management, influencing and engaging in nearly every aspect of Locke’s growth path from operations management to investor relations. Mrs. Mattox is a 4th generation oil and gas professional and holds two degrees from the University of Oklahoma, including a Masters of Legal Studies in Oil & Gas Energy Law.
Casey Oland, CPL
Casey Oland brings 15 years of oil and gas industry experience to the Locke Capital team. She has spent her career navigating complex land acquisitions, negotiations, and title examinations. Equipped with an MBA in Energy from the University of Oklahoma and achieving the highest professional certification through the AAPL, Certified Professional Landman plus Renewable Energy Certified, Oland is a vital part of the acquisition and asset management process. Oland has over a decade of independent landman experience and has operated as a co-founder and project manager in the brokerage space, focusing on maximizing value for her clients. Her reputation for quality service earned her the business of a wide variety of clients from super major oil and gas companies to private equity-backed startups. Oland is a member of numerous professional organizations including the PBLA, FWAPL, WIM, WEN, and she is currently serving as Vice President of the East Texas Association of Petroleum Landmen. Oland’s multidimensional experience and industry connections have bolstered Locke’s acquisition and asset management efforts, setting the stage for aggressive investment in the oil and gas space.
